About us

Tuatha de Bridget is a Pagan Druidcraft group, based in Glasgow, Scotland, UK.

The name means "The people (tribe) of the Goddess Bridget"

Bridget (Brigit, Brigid, Brighid, Bride) is best known as a solar deity and the pre-Chrisitan Irish Goddess of fire, poetry, healing and childbirth. In Irish mythology she is referred to as the daughter of the Dagda and one of the Tuatha de Danaan. An excellent website on Brigit is Brigit's Forge

Tuatha de Bridget has held open ceremonies for all eight festivals of the Wheel of the Year on an ancient earthworks site within Glasgow's Pollok Country Park from that time until the Autumn Equinox 2014. We had full permission to hold these ceremonies by Glasgow City Council, Land Services Dept. who have been very supportive of us over the years.

However, changing weather patters and the changing needs of members of our group have meant that we have searched for and found a more flexible venue  - The Old Barn.  The first ritual at the Old Barn took place on Sunday 21st Septmber 2014 in beautiful sunshine.  The venue is warmly welcoming with an outdoor area, sheltered and covered area and a fully indoor aspect.

The group began in 2001, holding the four cross quarter rituals and with the Druid Grove, Caer Clud, hosting the four solar festvals. When the Druid Grove went into sleep mode, Tuatha de Bridget took over all eight festival ceremonies and we continue to this day.

Over the years our membership has become more diverse - we have people who follow Druid, Wiccan, Shamanic, Heathen, and eclectic paths. We also often have open minded people from other faith backgrounds joining in our rituals. Our ceremonies reflect the diverse range of backgrounds and beliefs of our members. We honour both Gods & Goddesses and ancestors of blood, land and spiritual path. We hold great respect and reverence for the natural world. We delight in open expression, creativity and respect. We love and support each other in times of need, we offer healing and magic and we share knowledge and wisdom.

In many ways, we are a family, to which we warmly welcome all those with a warm heart and an open mind who honour and respect our ways.
